Highlight Activities 2022: Records of Northern Hawk-cuckoo Hierococcyx hyperythrus in Thailand and notes on their identification.

Abstract: Two migrant hawk cuckoos (Fam Cuculidae) mist-netted and ringed on Ko Man Nai, Klaeng District, Rayong province during April 2018 were identified as Northern Hawk Cuckoos Hierococcyx hyperythrus following detailed comparison of plumage and biometrics with a sample of 37 Hodgson’s Hawk Cuckoos H. nisicolor caught on migration at the same site over a ten-year period. These were the first records of this taxon from Thailand and only the second and third for South-east Asia
